Product Description
⚠️ B2B Supply Food Manufacturing Ingredient Only
This product is supplied exclusively to registered food manufacturers, supplement contract manufacturers, nutraceutical producers, and R&D operations. It is a bulk food manufacturing ingredient sold in 25kg commercial quantities. It is not intended for, and must not be used for, direct personal consumption or retail resale in this format. All buyers must operate under an appropriate food safety program and comply with FSANZ regulatory requirements for their intended application.
What Is This Product?
Creatine Monohydrate is a naturally occurring nitrogenous organic acid synthesised commercially via reaction of sarcosine and cyanamide. It is present naturally in vertebrate muscle tissue and is the substrate for phosphocreatine, the rapid ATP-regeneration system used during high-intensity muscular effort. At ≥99.0% purity with 200 mesh particle size, this food-grade creatine monohydrate meets the specification requirements for use as a nutritive substance in formulated supplementary sports foods and functional food applications in Australia under the FSANZ Food Standards Code.
Why Purity Specification Matters in Creatine
Not all creatine monohydrate is equivalent. The key quality differentiators that distinguish food-grade specification from lower-grade material are:
Dicyanamide (DCD) content a byproduct of cyanamide synthesis and a potential carcinogenic precursor. This specification sets the limit at ≤1ppm. Low-grade creatine can carry 10–100ppm or higher. Creatinine content the degradation product of creatine. ≤50ppm indicates fresh, properly stored product. Higher creatinine levels signal aged or poorly handled material. Heavy metals food-grade creatine must meet strict heavy metal limits. This specification sets Arsenic ≤0.1ppm (exceptionally tight), Lead ≤1ppm, Mercury ≤1ppm, Cadmium ≤1ppm. Cyanide ≤10ppm, well within food safety limits.
Application Area
- Vegan
- Vegetarian (lacto and ovo-lacto)
- Not from animal sources.
- Note: The manufacturing facility may handle milk and other food materials buyers with strict allergen requirements should request the current allergen management certificate from Prokin Foods before use.
Packaging & Storage
25kg heat-sealed Kraft paper bag. Bag dimensions: 830mm (H) × 535mm (W) × 140mm (D). Store below 25°C in a dry environment. Avoid prolonged storage time. Keep container sealed after opening. Shelf life: 5 years from manufacture under correct storage conditions.
Other Information
White crystalline powder, 200 mesh particle size. Solution clarity: clear and colourless. Bulk density: 400–550 g/L (spec >450 g/L result). No odour, no flavour. Disperses readily in neutral to alkaline aqueous solutions. Stability is excellent in dry powder form shelf life 5 years under correct storage conditions.
